Juanita Bourque, a singer-songwriter based in Fredericton, NB, emerged onto the music scene in 2008 as the lead singer of the local cover band Speakeasy. Her distinctive vocals immediately drew attention. In 2012, she co-founded the folk-bluegrass band Sissy and The Hobos alongside her cousin, Sylvia Reentovich, where their 2-time Music New Brunswick award nominated debut album provided a platform for Juanita to showcase her original compositions, further establishing her as a notable talent.

From 2015 to 2018, Juanita’s musical journey developed through collaborations with the award-winning group Sleepy Driver, where her soulful voice became a hallmark of their live performances and studio recordings. In 2019, she joined forces with Sleepy Driver’s frontman, Peter Hicks, contributing to the release of “Sleepy Driver Presents: Northeastern Chorus,” a collaborative album featuring some of her original tunes.

Today, Juanita remains a cherished member of Chanterelles, alongside Sylvia and powerhouse vocalist Justine Everett. Together, they continue to captivate audiences with Juanita’s heartfelt voice and their intricate three-part harmonies, solidifying their place in New Brunswick’s music industry.
