I, the Mountain

“One of the brightest new lights on the east coast music scene”
Troy Greencorn, Artist Director, Stanfest/Executive Director, DeCoste Performing Arts Centre

With his cannonball voice, songwriter’s heart, love of family, home, and memories from a storied past, Joe H. Henry has been turning heads in the Atlantic music scene since he settled in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley just over a year ago.

He released an EP – Keep The Fire Burning; and performed across the Maritimes including Stanfest; the Halifax Urban Folk Festival, Canada Day, Hfx and Cavendish Beach Music Fest. He played Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre for the Wildfire Recovery Concert, earning a standing O with his specially-written song – All Hands.

Joe is nominated for ECMA Blues Artist of the Year 2024 and was also nominated for Indigenous Artist of the Year at NSMW ’23.
